Okay, so maybe my first idea was too specific...I think if I just focus on student art/the student art gallery, it might be a more in depth project. I'm going over on Monday to talk to the crochet artist, and may join in myself for a bit! Why not, right?
So I think for the pictures and audio, I could do an art class, similarly to how we did the slide show. The video could be the people working on the crochet piece. Data visualization could be visitors or trends of students who have had pieces or exhibits over the years. I'm not totally sure about the interactive map yet, but I'm sure there's something that could be figured out...maybe. It's going to take some thought, anyway.
For now, that's that...

Rachel,
I think an art class is also too vague...Why don't you focus on sculpture at UNI...you can focus on the crochet project for your video; cover current sculpture work among students and faculty (with an interview (using audio recorder) with Erica Duffey and the other sculpture guy in the Art Dept. to flesh out the audio portion of the slideshow; cover sculpture across campus for your interactive map (with photos of all the outside sculptures and a quick description). And for the data visualization: maybe you can ask the profs for some statistical ideas...I'm dry on this one for now...perhaps a visualization of sculpture alum and where they have ended up? Let's brainstorm on this one.
I meant to say "an art class in general is too vague," but an art class specifically dealing with sculpture...that may work! Sorry for not being more specific!
